The Atonement

I was standing in the garden
Underneath a fruited tree
Thinking about original sin
That Adam had placed on me.

Dip me seven times in the Jordan
Cleanse my spirit through and through
Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean
From the sins that I once knew
From the sins that I once knew

Jesus is waiting there in heaven
With a little book in his hand
He will judge the seven  churches
According to his plan

Wash us whiter than the snow
Hold us in the palm of your hand
Till there be not a spot or a wrinkle
On your people of this land
On your people of this land

Time is slipping away
Let’s get right with Jesus today
If we die in our sins
There is no one to take them away
No there is no one to take them away

Jesus is the Living Water
He will cleanse you through and through
This poem is your invitation
The rest is up to you

God is Here!

( by Judy Whittaker )

Have you ever felt abandoned by God? Jesus did. In fact the words he uttered on the cross, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)  tell us that Jesus felt he was about to enter into spiritual darkness without God. Our Father who is holy, could not look upon Jesus. The sins of the world that Jesus took upon himself, separated him from God.Even though Jesus couldn’t see or feel God, he was with him all the time–the same way He is with you. He will never “fail you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6) when you trust Him with all of your heart. He will be with you “always, even to the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:18), and in these promises you will abide…..
